Rumpelstiltskin, known as Rump, was originally a playful child living in a sparsely populated forest. At the age of 9, drawn by the melodic tunes of a passing elven bard (a retired adventurer). The bard saw potential in having a gnome assistant and decided to take Rump with him. Under the bard's tutelage, Rump travelled and performed, learning the ways of a bard and picking up a few spells along the way. The bard promised to impart more knowledge for her future adventures. However, one day, the teacher vanished, and Rump, having grown up on the tales of his past adventures, believed his disappearance was linked to those very adventures. In pursuit of her missing mentor and driven by a vague memory of her homeland, Rump embraced the life of a novice adventurer.
